Camp Naue, North Shore

Kauai, Hawaii

Kauai is one of the most beautiful places on earth. Jagged peaks covered with brilliant green rainforest dive into the brilliant blue Pacific Ocean. Haena is a remote area on the North Shore. Nestled in the neighborhood, right on a golden sand beach is the YMCA Camp Naue.

During this ten day retreat Prema Dasara, Anahata Iradah and Guest Teachers will guide the group in celebrating the divine feminine through music and dance, meditation and dharma dialogue.

Focus of the camp will be on the 21 Aspects of the Great Mother Tara.

The opening three days will be devoted to establishing the mandalas of the dance. In the week that follows, we will dive deeply into the mysteries of the different aspects of Tara, using the power of the elements, of color, sound, and movement.

As a special treat we will delight in Brazilian Rhythms illustrating the 22 Major Arcana of the Tarot. We are hoping that Maria Ache will be able to join us from Rio de Janeiro to add her unique spice to the dances that she and her group created.

This will lead us into discussions about the relationship of western and eastern feminine mysteries, helping us to develop the tools of transcendent wisdom and radiant compassion.

The weekend will be devoted to developing an offering ritual of the Mandala of the 21 Praises of Tara. Island residents have the option to attend only the weekend if they cannot come for the rest of the retreat.

Our Teachers

Prema Dasara will be the mystress of ceremonies, using all the resources of weather and wonder to draw us into the deepest part of our inner realization.

Anahata Iradah is our camp director, seeing to every detail of our comfort and the easy flow of events. She will focus classes on the music and song of the Tara Dances, and share some beautiful new Dances of Universal Peace. She has continued developing the Mindfulness techniques of her teacher Shinzen Young and will be directing us into the deep sea depths of our own mind.

Maria Ache

Maria Ache and her Grupo Chama will set our souls dancing to the beat of delicious Brazilian Rhythms, illustrating the 22 Major Arcana of the Tarot.

Watch Divine Sunsets

August is a beautiful time to be in Kauai. At the camp there are night blooming cirrus, huge, moon like flowers hanging from the trees. We will have plenty of time to swim, the crystal water is home to honua, the island turtles. Brief tropical showers often bring beautiful rainbows. We will celebrate the elements with a fire on the beach, meditation under the stars.
