What is the nature of going on a pilgrimage?

On a pilgrimage, we leave behind our family and friends, our possessions and our familiar comforts. A pilgrim seeks spiritual nourishment from those places and people that are charged with spirit. A pilgrim makes prayers for themselves and their families, their communities and their world. A pilgrim makes offerings in order that these sacred sites and sacred people may be nurtured, that these places and individuals may continue to give spiritual nourishment to all who come to them. These offerings develop the seeds of auspicious circumstances that will ripen in each pilgrim's life.

What Makes Our Sacred Dance Pilgrimages Unique?

On our pilgrimages we dance for and with the local people as a part of our offering to them. Prema Dasara and Anahata Iradah, the pilgrimage directors, have been teaching sacred dance internationally for many years. Anahata Iradah is a core member of the Mentor Teacher’s Guild within the tradition of the Dances of Universal Peace. She is a master musician, composer and video producer. Prema Dasara, schooled in the arts of Sacred Dance in the Temples of Asia, has created ritual Dance offerings of great power and beauty. These two artists have spent many years cultivating their links to the cultures into which they enter on pilgrimage. By drawing together pilgrims, citizen diplomats, from many countries of the world, they consciously enter situations with the intention of bringing spiritual and material benefit. In addition to making financial offerings to communities, the groups dance, sing and bring a boundless sense of joy and optimism wherever they go.

Anahata & Prema have the organizational support & structure of Tara Dhatu and Peaceworks, the International Network of the Dances of Universal Peace, to continue the links once the official pilgrimage is over.

We invite you to travel with us into the heart of love. With our journeys we invoke clarity of purpose and a deepening understanding of our humanity. Co-create with us a vision of the cultures of our world meeting in mutual support, respect, curiosity, celebration and joy. Come prepared to give of yourself, you will receive far more than you can ever imagine.
