Dancing White Tara for Dagmola: The Photo Essay

Dagmola Kushog is one of Prema’s most treasured teachers. She was the first Tibetan woman to witness the Tara Dance, in 1989,  and felt compelled to offer empowerment to the dancers. In 1991, at Prema’s request, she gave the dancers an empowerment of her personal practice of White Tara of the Six Shields. Dagmola is considered an emanation of White Tara. This set in motion a series of events that led to the creation of the White Tara Dance of the Six Shields.

It was with great joy that a group of Seattle Tara Dancers gathered with Prema and Myri in the beautiful Sakya Temple to take empowerment with her, learn the new dance and then present it to her as an offering.
