Vajrasattva Dance of the 100 Syllable Mantra
A group of Tara Dhatu dancers in South America, led by Aradna Novais, under the direction of Prema Dasara, created this dance of the 100 syllable mantra of Vajrasattva. This Video demonstrates the dance followed by a detailed explanation of the mudras, movements and meditations by Prema Dasara.
The practice of Vajrasattva is a powerful method of mental purification. It removes obstacles to spiritual progress and creates beneficial conditions for spiritual exploration.
It helps us through difficult times. Whenever we have a confrontation with another person, we can rely on the Vajrasattva practice to help put things in perspective. If our work environment is chaotic with a lot of less-than-pleasant communications, it is a good way to just let go of all the tight spots, the disappointments, the judgmental obsessions.
This Sanskrit word, Vajrasattva, means immutable, diamond-like essence, the indestructible truth of the way things are.
This is a description of our own inner essence. In this practice, we personify our inner essence as a beautiful young man. As in all tantric practices involving deities, the purpose is not to relate to an external being as one to be worshiped, but to delve into the essence of one’s own mind by personifying it in this symbolic way. We are not appealing to a being dwelling in another universe with his own agenda. We are appealing to our own highest nature and the commitment we have made to manifest our awakened potential.
