Our circle of dancing Taras has suffered some intense episodes of impermanence.

Peggy Hitchcock, a woman whose support in the early years of the Mandala Dance of Tara, enabled Prema and Anahata to complete numerous projects passed away yesterday.
She sheltered their Beloved Elephant RV and provided a home base for their myriad travels to share the sacred dance throughout the world. Her friendship was filled with joy, and her many artistic sponsorships were always inspiring.
Travel well, beloved Peggy,
Crazy wisdom friend, big heart
Outrageous, joyful lover of life,
Devoted mama,
You opened your home to us
Supported us in so many ways
Our work, dancing in a sacred way
With your patronage
I wondered, how to manage a friendship with her
And still share our myriad appeals for the financial support of our many projects.
She explained, she was taught how to give away money and she looked for projects that inspired her,
so we were honoring her by turning to her for support.
In this way she shared in the accomplishments.
It was such a joy to help her turn the pool rec room into a Pavilion of Sacred events.
Dancing Tara in that sublime atmosphere was a yearly anticipated joy.
She kept watch over our Beloved Elephant for years and was so patient when we needed to pass her on.Bright light Peggy, Tara holds you in Her loving embraceAnd I carry you in my heart with gratitude and joy.
Always
Prema

Sarah Salamander
Our lovely sister Sarah danced with us for many years, organized many dances at her home community in Atlanta, Georgia. A sweet, kind, loving, devoted friend, she passed away last week.

Kachina Palencia, beloved friend, beloved Tara Dancer, has passed away. Kachina was an integral part of our Maui Family. She hosted countless gatherings of music and dance. When I decided to put the Tara text to dance, she helped me create the movements for Tara’s mantra, which to this day is taught all over the world not only as part of Tara Dhatu, but as part of the Dances of Universal Peace.
She was one of the original 14 dancers that presented the first Tara dance on Maui. She never missed a mandala held on the islands. She popped over to Kauai every year to participate in our yearly, International retreat. At my request, she organized our Maui family to go together to the magical place of Kalalau, where we camped out in bliss.
With a heart filled with gratitude we see her wrapped in the arms of Tara and rejoice that we had so many good years together.
