If you would like to receive Andrea’s wonderful emails please email Eana at taradhatukauai@gmail.com and she will let Andrea know to add you to her list of Tara Dances to receive her beautiful sharing.

Every year We are invited by Andrea to submit names, contribute financially which create a dynamic positive connection, and in general be included in the pujas at the Temple beside which Andrea has lived for decades. I am recalling a wonderful summer when she made the trip all the way to Kauai to be at the yearly camp at Ha’ena on Kauai. Here she is making offerings at a Medicine Buddha puja. She shares:

The Medicine Buddha is the Supreme Healer—an enlightened being with unbiased compassion for all beings who are living and those who have passed away. He protects everyone from physical and mental illnesses, from dangers and obstacles, and he removes the sickness  of delusions while helping to eradicate the three poisons.  May he also make all beings to have good health and happiness. May this puja begin to remove all the problems I have with my legs and knees and everyone else also!

This special puja for me and all beings began at 9:00 a.m. I began to lightlamps for the sake of all beings—may everyone have wonderful, healthy lives!I began to light the Golden Lamp for the sake of all beings. May those traveling through the Bardo see the light of the Enlightened Ones, maythey be guided along the correct path, and have all negativities from their past lives removed. May they all attain a precious human rebirth!May all who are sick recover quickly and enjoy a healthy, long life! May my legs and knees also improve soon so that I can walk well for the  benefit for all. May all others who have difficulties with their legs alsobegin to walk more comfortably!

Our New Year’s Lhasang Puja (ritual), January 1st, began at six in the morning at Thukje Choling Monastery on Manjushri Hill, the sacred hill of the Lord of Wisdom. Guru Rinpoche, is revered as the “Second Buddha,” he composed this ritual and  prayers to remove obstacles and bring success, world peace, good health, and harmony. All of this is important for life events such as traveling, marriage, and the beginning of new projects.

The word Lhasang first is Lha, meaning god or deity, and then Sang, meaning incense. Many people around the world regard January 1st as the start of the New Year.

We performed this puja to clear away the obstacles of the last past year, 2025,   so that our New Year 2026, could begin in a truly auspicious way!

Our annual Ushnisha Vijaya (Tibetan: Namgyema) long-life puja, together with the offering of 1,000 lamps, was performed on December 10, 2025, beginning at 6:00 a.m., for the well-being, good health, and happiness of all beings.

May those who have passed away, take a fortunate rebirth. May those who are ill be healed, and may all others receive good health, happiness from our prayers to Ushnisha Vijaya! May everyone receive Her blessings and feel physically very well.

Last year, the Tibetan Wood-Snake New Year began

on February 28, 2025. This year, the Tibetan New Year 2026 is the Wood-Fire Horse year starting on February 18. May Ushnisha Vijay continue to guide us in positive directions year after year!
