Clare’s Dancing Taras at her temple in Napier, North Island, New Zealand

She sends in lovely reports about her meetings. Here are some bits for you to savor.

9th July

We start with Prayer of Motivation today followed by Shantideva then the 8 precious Offering Goddessesthe White Tara6 Shields. As we sit and talk a newcomer is at the door – Catherine who lives on the streets and assails everyone with her loud voice and improper advances. In response to her questions about what we are doing and why, we invite her in and after a short time of answering her questions as to who we are and what we’re doing we stand to start the second half of our session to give her an experience of Tara and not simply talk about the dances. She sits in the middle as we dance Calling Tara form the Heart. She is tamed, then mesmerized, then sad then quiet and thankful. We dance the May All Beings to finish then say our goodbyes to her and to each other.  What a special object of our offerings she became as well as another being in the Mandala of Tara, just popping in, just passing through, but now blessed by Tara. Om Tare!

23rd …. we are partway through Shantideva’s Prayer when Cathryn walks in. We pause and get her a chair to sit on then we continue with her joining in with what she can. Then she stays seated as we Dance Tara 6 Shields. Many waves of peace and quiet and sadness pass over her face as well as smiles when we smile at her. Thank you she says. In the break I say no questions. Cathryn says she is 55 and her daughter is 45. She had her tubes tied at 23y.o. when she got married……The break is shorter than usual then we stand and dance the Tibetan /English version of 21 Qualities of Tara. It’s amazing how much Catheryn remembers from her single previous time. We all hug each other then C leaves, happy.  Om Tare!
