Hope Leads Tara Dances at a World Sacred Circle Dance day in Vermont

Yesterday Sunday July 6, 2025 I shared dances of Tara invited by Gwyn Peterdi to lead dances as part of a celebration of World Sacred Circle Dance Day,

an initiative she started, now in its 10th year with over 300 groups participating from groups around the world. She led the three selected dances for this year’s event that all groups would also be dancing and we wove a beautiful session together in Brattleboro, VT in a pre established sacred circle dance circle and many new people attended.

I offered Prayer of Motivation, Shantideva’s Prayer, the Mantra Dance and Om Ah Hum dance. We were 24 dancers with some local Tara dance sisters in attendance including Flo, Nancy and Sylvia and a few others who had danced a little with me before including Bobbi Bailin, friend of Myri’s. One man’s immediate and spontaneous response after we danced the three preliminaries was, “wow, this opens up a whole new world!” Another woman shared on the break that she felt touched by the grace of the dances. The two hour session of collaborating with Gwyn went swimmingly. She has been leading large circle dance groups and retreats in Mexico and Brazil for over 30 years and also lives not far from me in MA.

It was the first time that I felt the Tara dance and circle dance merging really well together and it gave me some good practice for my upcoming trip to Mexico leaving July 22 where I’ll share more dances of Tara as part of a large circle dance retreat and also in a day long Tara retreat. With love and healing blessings of gratitude, Hope
