Tara report 2025: below is a report about this event offered by Jacquline and Rigdzin
Many years ago, I joined the Tara Dhatu Student teacher’s program and lead a local Tara dance practice at the Hillside Swedenborg Church El Cerrito, California with Prema’s encouragement. Recently, my life came full circle when my husband and I co-taught Tara qualities, and the dharma dances at this same Church.
We both have been part of the Student teacher program and team taught an Introduction to Tibetan Spirituality. The Church’s members have an interest in Buddhism as their Church is based on the founder’s experiences some of which are similar to Buddhism.
One of the males encouraged me by voicing “we want to dance!”
I wanted folks to feel Tara’s energy and sense her essence.
We danced her mantra as well.
I felt to share dharma and qualities of Tara enabling everyone to embody the practices of Motivation, Refuge, and Bodhichitta. I took the group to the open part of the Church where there was plenty of room to dance “Rejoice in Happy times,” and present Tara’s qualities.
Although there was computer challenge, I was able with help of one of my usual TARA dance and sangha ladies we were able to sing together. We danced Tara’s mantra to instill her energy into our bodies and minds. .Rigdzin presented the philosophy and guided meditation. Refreshments were served, and everyone enjoyed the evening.
