More Tara sisters share their experience at Tara Ling

A note from Sabrina Beach

Good morning, Prema. Please enjoy this video. It was the honor of my life to be present at a moment when you and your life’s work as a dharma teacher was lifted up, affirmed and acknowledged in a space dedicated to Tara and in which you can seat the practice. Praise be to Myri for using her skillful means and great effort to create a space dedicated to this practice. I love you and Myri, and I wish you all of the blessings I can generate from that tiny Tara revolving as gem in the seat of my heart radiating outward to you 💛❤️💙💚💓💕🌈

TaraDhatu Monlam 2024  Pirenopolis Brazil  – a bit about my experience – Eana Rose

A week prior to the commencement of the Monlam Tara sisters began to arrive at Tara Ling Pirenopolis. Preparations for the gathering  began from watering the many constellations of flowers amid the buildings and the natural stone pool to purchasing food and treats and portioning them in individual  bags for the participants for the ‘Tsok” – a feast celebration among the sangha that is part of the Sadhana Practice, to making sure the Temple and gorgeous Tri goddess alter ( Green tara, White tara and the red dakini is Vajrayogini ) had all the elements needed for our practice and for the consecration and 21 Taras empowerment that Chokyi Nangpa Rinpoche would be offering at the First ever Gathering at our new center “Tara Ling” .

The 5 day practice was a deep dive into the traditional protocols for a monlam based on the ancient Sadhana that is the root of our “Mandala Dance of the 21 Praises of Tara”. Prema Dasara has been able to translate into dance form, the many praises, offerings, dedications and aspiration prayers from the “terma” or Treasure practice that was revealed in the mind of a renowned treasure Reveler .

To quote from Prema’s explanation on the website of the lineage of our practice   “This text comes from a cycle of teachings called “A Mind Treasure Of The Profound Depths Of Tara, A Ritual Mandala Offering Adorned With The Essence Of The Two Accumulations” from the great Terton (Treasure Finder) Orgyen Dechen Chokjur Lingpa.  https://taradhatu.org/about/

The very auspicious visit of Chokyi Nangpa Rinpoche durning our monlam provided an opportunity for many of our community to receive the empowerment of the practice and informed us again of the authentic ancient roots of our lineage of Tara.

The Sadhana moves through a repetition of praises and offerings twice, 3 times and 7 times. Rinpoche lead us through the traditional form, as well as an empowerment and consecration of the Temple. The rigors of this practice then were expresses though our dancing all these elements of practice over the course of the 5 days.  We accomplished all the requirements of offering ( through our “8 Precious Offerings” dance) and praises as we danced the full mandala of the 21 Praises 12 times in the 5 days of our “festival of prayer” – Monlam.   Sarva Mangalam!

There were 50 Participants, including our amazing guitarist Richardo,  extraordinary drummer,  Isa Maria and our singers Priya and Parvati for the English Mandalas and Dani sang the practice in Portuguese for the Mandala offerings that were done in Portuguese. The Mandala dance offerings were lead by a number of “central Tara”, dance leaders who are aspiring to be able and confident to offer the dance in their communities, as well as a number of Dance leaders who have been in the program for decades.  As always  Prema was there to guide and support us with her wisdom and compassion and Skill!

Entering the compound, a generally circular area  enclosed by concrete walls, was to step into the “realm of the enlightened feminine” Mother Tara, while the outside world seemed to dissolve. Stone pathways  lined in flowers lead to the temple and houses. The natural stone pool is at the center, an offering of water for beauty and the comfort of bathing. Prema’s vision of “StreetArt” on the walls has been inaugurated by Min – The depiction of Dandelions blown and transformed to stars to flood out into the world as the blessings of our practice and the unique gifts of each one of us hold as we “Send out Light”.

Myri Dakini had arranged for accommodations at a very pleasant near by “Posada” for the majority of the Tara sisters while the newly built and renovated accommodations inside the compound housed the remaining 10 or so women.  Supportive staff and cooks were hired and extra tables brought in and set to accommodate all the participants for meals. The Kitchen in the main house, which the is the residence for Prema and Myri, was barely finished in time which added to the wonder and auspicious of the gathering.

This first gathering at Tara Ling  Pirenopolis fulfilled all our aspirations and has established this refuge in the name of Tara for generations to come.  May all be Auspicious!   Love eana rose
