Our Sister Organization, Dances of Universal Peace North America (D.U.P. N.A.) has a “Song of the Month” page. These offerings are full of the magic and wisdom, grace and inspiration that guide the Dances of Universal Peace.
This month’s feature is “There Is Love” a song for a dance by Phoenix dance leader and musician extraordinaire Shivadam Adam Burke. He wrote the song as inspiration converged between verse 18:20 of the Bible’s Matthew and the “Wedding Song” by Peter, Paul, and Mary. Notably, Shivadam will be leading the musicians at the Aug 11-19 2012 Tara Dhatu annual camp on the North Shore of Kauai.
Tara Zikr, the next song listed, is lead by the wise and wonderful Darvesha Victoria MacDonald with Tara Dhatu’s own Parvati Forrest Anee calling out the 21 Qualities of Tara. Darvesha says of the dances, “When I found the Dances and Walks in the eighties, I felt like I was stepping into a swirling Zendo. I could continue to do my Buddhist sitting practice of self-witnessing, in action with sound: the perfect place to practice meditation in action.” Here she leads the popular “Tara Zikr”.
